How I Can Help

I want to give my clients the same thing I give my users: a joyous, painless, incredibly valuable experience they won’t soon forget.

You can rely on me to help define the scope of the project, provide a clear schedule upfront (and stick to it), and take all the steps necessary to ensure that we create a product that meets your target audiences’ needs while accomplishing your business objectives.

The process that I most often follow to get there is:
Research > Strategy > Design > Evaluation

This is a holistic approach that continues to yield terrific results. Every project is unique and I treat it as such.

Depending on your company’s needs, budget, and timeline, I will offer the appropriate combination of the following services:

Research

  • stakeholder interviews
  • user interviews and observations
  • participatory design sessions
  • competitive analysis
  • web metrics analysis

Strategy

  • process establishment
  • team building workshops
  • personas and scenarios
  • feature set prioritization
  • product roadmap

Design

(subcontracted and managed)

  • site maps
  • flow diagrams and storyboards
  • wireframes
  • pixel-perfect mockups
  • functional prototypes

Evaluation

  • heuristic evaluation
  • usability testing
  • ongoing brainstorming

I’m always happy to explain what each of these activities entail in as much detail as you’d like. My goal is to ensure that you see the value in every step we decide to take together.

How I Can’t Help

It’s important to note that I personally do NOT do any visual design or programming. If you’re looking for a unicorn, that’s just not me — jack of all trades, master of none. I exclusively specialize in user experience research and strategy…and I think that makes me very good at what I do.

Pricing Policy

I am a consultant and not a freelancer, so I charge a flat project rate that is based on your budget and timeline, and the complexity of the project. For longer-term clients, I offer a retainer fee.

I don’t measure the value of my work in the number of hours that I spend working, therefore I don’t charge by the hour. If I take half as much time as someone else would to get things done, that surely doesn’t mean I’m half as good; on the flip side, if I take twice as long, you shouldn’t be penalized.

I can’t wait to hear from you! (P.S. I love what I do)
