Turrell Draws a Crowd -- Twice Published June 2003
On Wednesday, March 12, James Turrell, a highly celebrated American artist who is best known for his explorations with light, came to Carnegie Mellon to speak about his site-specific works in conjunction with his exhibition “Into the Light” now at the Mattress Factory through April 30. The lecture, co-sponsored by CMU's Center for Arts in Society, the CMU School of Art, and the Mattress Factory, had been heavily publicized as free and open to the public and thus drew an enormous crowd.
